Stack & Normalize on Plots

2026-08-23

Comparing multiple traces on the same plot just got easier with two new buttons next to the expand and download icons.

How it works

  • Normalize scales each trace to its own peak, so traces with very different magnitudes can be compared on the same footing.
  • Stack does the same normalization and then offsets each trace vertically, so overlapping curves separate out visually.
  • The two are mutually exclusive — turning one on turns the other off — and clicking the active one again returns the plot to its original data.
  • Your original data is never modified; toggling off always restores the exact original view.

This works on CSV plots as well as fit plots, where it's applied to the data and fit curve only — residuals are left untouched so the fit-quality panel stays meaningful.

Video Tutorials

2026-08-21

We've started building a library of quick (about a minute each) video tutorials covering common tasks in Atomicity.

Where to find them

  • Visit the Tutorials page for the full library, filterable by category.
  • A few are also featured right on the home page.

More will be added over time as new features ship — check back if you don't see one for what you're trying to do yet.

What's New (yes, really)

2026-08-17

We added a changelog to tell you what's new — including the changelog itself. Somewhat recursive, but here we are.

How it works

  • Log in (or load any page) and if there's something you haven't seen yet, a badge shows up.
  • Click What's New to see a quick summary of recent changes.
  • Visit the full history any time for the complete writeup, including tutorial videos where available.

No account changes, no settings to configure — it just quietly keeps track of what you've seen in your browser.

Instrument Mode

2026-08-17

Instrument computers can now be switched into Instrument Mode, turning them into a shared drop point for data files.

How it works

  1. On the instrument computer, switch into Instrument Mode from your account.
  2. Drag and drop your files onto the screen — personal accounts are logged out and the instrument is logged in.
  3. Log into your own account later (on any computer) and find your uploaded files waiting in the sidebar.

Using your files

Once you see a file in the sidebar, drag it into:

  • A text box — drops it in as a formatted table
  • The plot/figure box — immediately generates a figure in the plotting tool.

This means you can walk away from the instrument and finish organizing your data from your desk.

Instrument Plot Templates

2026-08-17

HQP can now create reusable templates that recognize instrument export formats and automatically generate plots when students upload data.

How it works

  1. Upload a sample export file
  2. Identify the delimiter and header rows
  3. Map fields to plot axes
  4. Save the template — matching uploads auto-plot from then on

This is the first step toward full instrument-mode kiosk support.

Nonlinear Curve Fitting

2026-07-01

You can now fit custom equations to your plotted data directly in Atomicity.

  • Build equations with the visual equation builder
  • View parameter tables and fit statistics
  • Download fit results as CSV

Fits are computed server-side for consistency across sessions.
