Atomicity a digital lab notebook
How It Works
Project-Based Workflow
Our lab notebook uses a structured hierarchy to organize research data:
- Projects: Define research goals
- Experiments: Break projects into individual steps or targets
- Attempts: Each trial with detailed information including reagents, solvents, catalysts, and custom entries
Summary Tables
Each attempt contributes to a summary table, making it easy to see outcomes at a glance. This ensures you never lose track of important data, even if experiments fail.
Chronological Logbook
While the summary table organizes data, you also have a chronological logbook for detailed notes, photos, plots, and chemical structures. Tables can instantly be converted to plots for easy analysis.
Flexibility and Custom Entries
Students can create custom entries for specific measurements, outcomes, or observations. This allows the notebook to adapt to different research fields, from organic chemistry to materials science.
